Help the kids from Magdalena Milpas Altas finish school
Fourteen women work in the city of Magdalena Milpas Altas, one of the first rural companies with which Wakami began to work, These pioneering women represent the goal we want to achieve in other communities.
The Women of Magdalena Milpas Altas have fought for their daughters. Here, six girls have graduated from high school, and one of them, went on to graduate from college. For the community and families, this is an almost impossible achievement.
Despite the fact that the community has reasonable access to schools (they walk about 15 minutes), the girls have a lot of difficulties studying. The men in the community do not consider the education of girls important and they think girls should stay home and help the family. But the mothers in this group have shown that this can be overcome.
Please support the dream of 5 girls and 4 boys with a scholarship.
The Wakami Foundation serves to support the women, children and
families of our Wakami Communities.
These communities are led by women who struggle against a lack of
resources, a lack of opportunities and often against community
prejudices against women working and owning a business. The one
thing that matters most to our Wakami women is the education of their
children. By supporting their education, you are played a critical role in
improving the lives of their families and communities
