Help create more opportunities at the Wakami Center
The Wakami Center is located in a region of the country where more than 70% of the population lives in poverty and has high rates of chronic malnutrition. In building the Wakami Center we envisioned a place that works to open new opportunities for young people and women from rural villages.
Today, the Wakami center is a space that provides opportunities for employment, training and income generation, community education for children and adults and a learning center on family nutrition A favorite location of our Wakami travelers, it is a space that inspires and invites people to see new opportunities and has become a place that connects worlds, where people can meet, share and learn from each other.
Please help us to keep the doors of the Wakami Center open to everyone who comes to learn!
The Wakami Foundation serves to support the women, children and
families of our Wakami Communities.
These communities are led by women who struggle against a lack of
resources, a lack of opportunities and often against community
prejudices against women working and owning a business. The one
thing that matters most to our Wakami women is the education of their
children. By supporting their education, you are played a critical role in
improving the lives of their families and communities
